Cardevvayah Johnson is the founder of Mended Wings Housing and a passionate advocate for youth navigating adversity. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and brings over 13 years of experience in the finance industry, along with a strong background in case management and behavioral health intervention for youth ages 5 to 18.
Though not a product of the foster care system herself, Cardevvayah’s journey is rooted in resilience. Raised by a single mother, she faced significant challenges—becoming a teen mother at 16, growing up with an addicted father, and surviving domestic violence. Her life has not followed a perfect path, but she believes that even a crooked road can lead to redemption and purpose.
Her lived experiences, combined with her professional expertise, inspire the mission of Mended Wings: to create a safe, supportive space where young girls in foster care can heal, grow, and realize their full potential. Through this work, Cardevvayah is turning pain into purpose—and empowering the next generation to rise above their circumstances.
